We will be trustworthy, honest, polite and speak respectfully. We will treat everybody equally and let everyone feel they belong to our school family. We will act, play and move around the school safely showing care and consideration to one another keeping hands, feet and hurtful words to ourselves. We will care for each other, materials, equipment, property and our environment. We will follow directions given by staff first time. We will tell a member of staff if we are worried, upset, hurt or bullied. We will wear the correct uniform.

The children in Reception are beginning their first year of being at school full time. Starting Reception is a big step in a child's development. One of our aims is for your child to learn and develop and of course have lots of fun along the way!

We hope you enjoy some of the fantastic pictures and information that we will be updating on our web page over the course of the year. If you have any questions regarding anything you see on the website, then please get in touch with us.

The Early Years Foundation Phase

In Reception your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through 7 areas of learning and development.

This emphasises the need for children to learn in an active way through play and practical activities, both indoors and out. For more information please see our Summer Term overview attachment.

Polite Reminders:
It is school policy that uniform should be worn.
Please label all clothes.
Snack - we provide a healthy daily snack. Please remember Snack Money is a £1 a week, payable on a Monday.

Homework
- each week pupils will be given one activity to complete at home in their Homework Book.

Reading-Reading Books will be changed each week along with the Homework . Please can you send in your child's reading log and book daily so that they can be signed when your child reads in school.

Bug Club-All pupils have been given a Bug Club username and password. Books are allocated on a continuous basis and support the home reading scheme. Pupils get to read and complete activities related to the books. Progress is stored on the site and is accessible for teachers to monitor.
