At Key Stage 2 children build upon the skills they have learnt in Foundation Phase. Learning is usually whole-class but can also be group-based. Children are encouraged to develop independence and a love of learning. We have a team of teaching assistants to support learning at Key Stage 2. This team supports a range of learners in literacy , maths and other subjects across the curriculum where
necessary.
We ensure that all tasks set, are appropriate to each child’s level of ability. When planning work for
children with Additional Educational Needs, including those who are gifted and talented, we give due
regard to information and targets contained in the children’s Individual Educational Plans (IEP’s). We have high expectations of all children, and we support every child to reach their potential.
