Complaint Committee:
Three governors will make up the panel to hear complaints. The panel may be made up of any governors who are not 'tainted' ie have not been actively involved in the matter at an earlier stage. For this reason, a Chair of Governors is prohibited from sitting on the panel. An external Hearing Clerk may be sought where appropriate.
Chair of Governors’ role on committees
It is not recommended that the Chair of Governors serve on any statutory committees or on a number of the panels that carry out functions of the governing body. This is because the chair has a unique role and is likely to have had prior involvement in processes and procedures as detailed in the relevant policy.
