WALT: To create an original Viking Saga set in Wales.

 

Today we are going to be creating our own Viking Saga!

The Vikings were great storytellers. Long winter’s evenings were perfect for telling stories commemorating the actions of successful Vikings. Great deeds were often exaggerated, and half-truths made out to be truths. Gods mixed with men, and brave deeds were honoured. 

 

Highlight all the features of the Saga in the text and then choose a bronze, silver or gold template to plan your Viking Saga! 

 

How long will it be? 
Who is the intended audience? 
Will it rhyme? 
What person and/or event will be commemorated?
Where will the saga be set? 
How much truth and how much exaggeration will you include?
