Symmetry in 2D shapes

Yesterday you explored symmetry in objects. Today we will be sharing what symmetry is and finding lines of symmetry in 2D shapes. Watch the BBC clip below before opening today's teaching video.

Activities

Your activities today;

Download the shapes from the website, or ask your grown-up to help you make your own.

Red/Blue: Find all the lines of symmetry in each shape. Some might have 2 or 3!

Yellow/Orange/Green: Find 1 line of symmetry in each shape.

To find the lines of symmetry, fold your shape to make 2 exact halves. Draw a line down the crease in the paper.
