School Trips: Friday 19th April - Year 4 School Trip to Harry Potter Exibition in London.
We are still waiting to confirm our trip date to Cosmeston Lakes. We wiill keep you updated with this.
School Visits: PC Natalie will be visiting Year Four on Monday 15th April to educate us about the dangers of smoking.
Learning
We are in our final term of Year 4 and so far we have been having a fantastic time progressing with our learning. We are looking forward to a busy term, basing much of our learning around our topic ‘underground -overground'. This will be based around Pentwyn and habitats. We will be finding out about the local environment and area.
The children are already very excited about this topic and have started to find out some information about Pentwyn. We would be grateful if you could encourage research at home with your child and ask them to bring pictures, facts, art work, books and anything related for our classroom display.
We have already had lots of fantastic models brought in from home of features around Pentwyn. Keep them coming in because they are great!
Reading
Please continue to encourage your children and help them to enjoy reading. Give them opportunities to read a range of materials...books, comics, newspapers, magazines...and if possible join the library where a wealth of material is available for free. All reading books are now availble online through Bug Club. Please make use of these as they are fantastic resouces to encourage reading.
P.E Kit
PE kit is needed every Monday as we will be doing P.E on Tuesdays indoor and outdoor athletics on Wednesdays. Shorts and T-shirts are needed for indoor PE and trainers are needed for outside games. Some children often forget so please ensure that they are prepared for this important part of the curriculum. P.E kits are to go home on Fridays ready for Monday morning.
Homework
All homework is set on a Friday and expected back into school the following Thursday. Please can you ensure that they are returned to school every Thursday. We would love it if you could put a comment in the homework books once you have ensured that your child's homework is done.
Our lessons begin promptly at 8.55 so please make every effort to arrive on time-you don't want to miss anything!
