Welcome to Year 6
We hope you all had a relaxing break and are now ready to work harder than ever.
For information on the topics we are covering please see our Summer Term overview.
READING EXPECTATIONS:
In Year 6 we expect the children to read at home at least 3 times a week and get their reading diaries signed. There is a weekly competition to see which class has the most children with 3 signatures in their diaries.
HOMEWORK:
Each week, on a Friday, we set Numeracy and Literacy homework which we expect to be completed by the following Wednesday. Homework may be submitted in their books or on our Hwb page. The children also have weekly spelling words to learn.
PE:
We now have PE / Games on a Monday morning and Thursday afternoon with Superstars. Children will need to bring a full PE kit in order to take part in these sessions. If a child is unable to take part in a session we require a letter from the parent / guardian.
No jewellery is allowed to be worn for these sessions due to health and safety and long hair needs to be tied back.
TRIPS:
At the end of this term we are going on our residential trip to Storey Arms. We leave on the 16th July and are back in time for the end of term on Friday 17th.
Look out for the up coming letter.
